2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Most full-sized pickup owners will agree that the powertrain is the heart of their pickup. The other factors that are also important are a functional bed, an interior that is comfortable, looks tough and is filled with technology.  But if the key criteria are how this pickup accelerates, sounds, shifts and tows, you really can't go wrong with the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

The next easy step is to just check one out with the friendly folks at Hometown Chevrolet Buick GMC located at 2009 Barnes Street or by calling the dealership at 336.634.0050 and see firsthand if the Silverado meets your expectations.

In fact, just for the fun of it do a test drive in the new four cylinder turbo.  This “baby beast” cranks out 310 ponies, an amazing “get-up and go” 348 lb-ft of torque and can tow up to 7,200 pounds.   That is one serious four banger!  This great looking Silverado comes with other engines and eight trims to fit just about anyone's budget.  Chevrolet also added this year a RST trim for those who love high performance in their drive times. This 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 covers all the bases using high strength steel, improving ride quality, a quieter cabin, more power plants, sleek lines, Off-road options and much more.  Under its handsome hood are six available engines starting with the aforementioned turbo four, two versions of the very popular 5.3-liter V8 with the updated Dynamic Fuel Management. Those are mated with the smooth shifting 8-speed automatic.  A new 10-speed automatic comes with the revamped 6.3-liter V8 that punches out 420 lively horses and also has DFM that allows having four of the eight cylinders work as you cruise down the Interstate. Or opt for the Duramac diesel that delivers 460 lb-ft of torque and above average fuel economy.

If you ever heard the phrase that a vehicle drives smaller than it is, then you will experience this when you get behind the wheel of the Chevy Silverado 1500.  This handsome pickup has an agreeable easy driving nature whether you are maneuvering into a tight parking space or traveling down a twisty country road.  It not only is fun to drive, but also great to be seen in.  Just maybe, that is one of the reasons that you see so many ladies up in the driver's seat.

The lucky driver and guests will also appreciate the abundance of room and comfortable seating, which is the result of the Silverado's longer wheelbase.  For your communication, entertainment and safety desires you have the highly rated MyLink/Intellilink system that comes with a slew of safety features.  Now couldn't be a better time to check out the new 2020 Chevrolet 1500 pickup out.  You will not be disappointed.

2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

This year's unveiling of the 2020 Corvette Stingray opened a bold new chapter with this iconic American sports car and placed it in the “Wow factor”.  You will nod your head in agreement when you see this new Corvette in person with the friendly folks at Hometown Chevrolet Buick GMC located at 2009 Barnes Street in Reidsville, North Carolina or by calling 336.634.0050 and take one out for a very enjoyable test drive. Easy as that.

A true, all new “Vette” is really a very rare occurrence and the car critics/writers and potential owners love this overhaul.  The main news and attention getter is the placement of the powerful engine smack dab in the middle of this great looking two-seater sports car for its eighth generation model.  Why you say?

Because mid-engine cars offer the prospect of ideal weight distribution.  With this big eight behind the seats and the driver closer to the front axle, directional changes and rotation around the axis occur more naturally.  Another change is the new skin of the C8 with its “humped” rear end, creased taillights that poke out between a raised multitier spoiler above and outboard bumper vents below.  A dark, lower part of the bumper has more vents with quad tailpipes split wide. It gets even better as on both sides of this new Corvette are huge angry looking vents to help in cooling.

Looking back at you are the “cat's eyes” headlamps and a snarling grille.  This 2020 “Vette” refuses to go anywhere without getting some deserved attention.  Chevrolet totally accomplished its main goals in the Corvette's rebirth by shifting its traditional sports car into the realm of exotic super two-seaters and a lean, corner bending, asphalt eating, bar room brawler vehicle. Just saying.  The rear engine compartment houses the tried and true 6.2-liter V8 that punches out up to 495 anxious ponies and an awesome 470 lbs per feet of torque.  This strong V8 is mated with a smooth shifting dual- clutch 8-speed automatic and this combo will put you at 60 mph in about 3 seconds.

The new Corvette's is outfitted with bucket seats that fit you like your favorite driver's gloves with a large center console, 12-inch customizable screen and a steering wheel with a flat bottom just like in race cars.  Some car critics state the cabin looks like a fighter pilot's cockpit.  At center stage is Chevy's highly popular new infotainment system that comes with voice recognition and everything else you need for entertainment, communication and safety.

Another bonus is extra storage space that can hold two sets of golf clubs, on that test drive you will also notice that this new “Vette” is so quiet when cruising with hardly any engine noise and smooth shifting. You will not sense how fast you are going, until you see those red and blue lights in your rear view mirror.

Anyway, this new C8 Corvette is not only powerful and the most premium-feeling Corvette ever, but somehow just starts around 60K.  What a bargain.  Don't just dream it, drive it as life is just too short.
